Wonderful Night!
Despite the very chilly evening at the park, we had a beautiful opening from Elder Iris Jules, Jennica Alpaugh and her 50 amazing singers from the Thompson Youth Honour Choir performing on stage with many parents/Big Bear supporters watching, the United Steelworkers Local 7619 from Highland Valley Copper BBQing and help from United Way, Retired Kamloops Fire & Rescue and Team Big Bear (from SD #73, Secwepemc Child & Family Services, Interior Health, MCFD & Big Bear Advocate program)! Thank you Save-On-Foods for donating the burger/buns and Star Bucks downtown for the coffee! Huge thank you to everyone!
And the Kamloops Fire & Rescue with Mayor Reid Hamer-Jackson getting that star on the tree! Stingray New Country 103.1, K97.5 and Radio NL…you did an amazing job as emcee again this year and helping with the countdown to the lights! Thank you City of Kamloops Arborists, Parks and Permit Depts for all your work in getting the lights on the tree and the bandshell area ready!

At the Blazer game we had the Big Bear Team: Nestor Baird, Phil Whiles and Bill Larsen from Kamloops RCMP, Tracy Scott from Interior Health, Nadine Ryan from MCFD, Natasha Marshall from Secwepemc Child & Family Services, Renee Gurnsey and Deanna Brady from SD #73, and Tara Ettinger E.D of Big Bear – had so much fun on the fanboni throwing bears into the audience and then joining the amazing singers on the ice during 2nd intermission! Thank you Blaine Alexandre, Suzi & Jolie Rawn, Jude Bastien, Renea Denis and Nicole Clay for your absolute wonderful performance and again from the Thompson Youth Honour choir and other children that were able to join on the ice too!
Thank you Missy Cederholm for helping to organize all this on the ice! Thank you Rylan Willoughby from Kamloops This Week for having the big bear/Blazer jersey raffle at the game that night! And to Peter and his crew from Mastermind in capturing the whole evening! Stay tuned for that video coming out 🙂
